American Mustache Institute chairman Dr. Aaron Perlut recently spoke with Milwaukee Brewers closer John Axford, in what they are calling their ‘award winning’ interview series about mustaches. I am not telling any tales out of school when I say that John Axford has had a sensational mustache since taking over the closer role last season and finally AMI is recognizing his flavor savor for an interview. His mustache has gotten so popular at AMI that he’s even been rumored as a candidate for the Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year, which some might argue is more prestigious than a Cy Young. They cover everything here - Communism, Canada, K-Rod, Bieber and then some more Communism, or as AMI put it ‘nothing was off limits’.

Side Note: Axford makes a mistake here that could cost him the Goulet - he refers to his current mustache style as a ‘fu manchu’ when in reality it is more of a ‘horseshoe’, although it is possible that his is a hybrid of the two. This hybrid could be deemed ‘The Ax Man’, should that prove to be the case I believe this would almost guarantee him his first Goulet.
